Buddy Bench Donation Drive

Buddy Bench Donation Drive

Recess for many kids is their favorite part of the school day, but for some kids the playground can also be the loneliest part of their day.  They may be new to their school or their friend doesn’t have recess at the same time.  The Anoka Hennepin School District has implemented a Buddy Bench program to give kids another tool to help them connect with their classmates and participate in recess activities.

How does the Buddy Bench work?
If a student sits on the Buddy Bench it is a signal to the other students that a classmate is looking for a buddy to play with. They can ask them to join in an activity or organized game or even just to walk and talk.

The Buddy Bench is a simple way to help eliminate loneliness, foster new friendships and help kids try new activities.

How can I donate?
Help us provide Buddy Benches to Crooked Lake ElementaryRamsey Elementary, McKinley Elementary and Andover Elementary by making a cash donation at the collection box in Northtown’s Center Court outside Helzberg Diamonds.

Together we can help make going to school a little more fun for kids in our community.
